November 7, 2009: Calle San Juan and Calle Peru, Buenos Aires 6:54pm

The kite, heavy with child,

Turned pink with breath

In that moment, when in looking up,

It saw the sky for the color it was.

What is your request?
The submission of it, maybe.

The snail falling asleep in your hand,
not knowing your hereditary mistrust of hands, your fear of things that weigh themselves in small amounts.

This: the crushing adoration of it

November 1, 2009: Calle Carlos Calvo 715, Buenos Aires 5:35pm (repositioned)

The sky, underfoot.

The appendix, vestigial creature,

The exquisite things we covet in order to render them worthless.

There are reasons we need.

1. the bone crushed itself

(screaming, this is spite!, tossing glances to anyone who looked.)

2. the boy ran after
(crooning, come back, come back, it’s a dream, you are safe!)

the arm being silly fat and muscle, now that the bone was gone,

it embarrassed easily

clung to walls

waved at the Queen

fell asleep during tea.

October 28, 2009: Calle Estados Unidos and Calle Piedras, Buenos Aires 6:45pm

1. the child ate it.

2. the thing did not particularly mind.

Chew quick, chew quick,
the bite may jump out

and when it lands, it cries,

(horrible song, this day)

put it between bread and swallow.

1. el niño se lo comió.

2. la cosa no tuvo inconveniente en especialmente

Mastica rápido, mastica rápido,

la picadura puede saltar

y cuando aterriza, llora,

(canción horrible, este día)

Póngalo entre el pan y tragar.

What will condense it?
To fit the rooms dimensions.

(The image):

a pattern of wells, a field empty of corn, a single Jacaranda,

the cow perched inside it, watching the man take the picture that will appear on pages a million miles from here,
no one believing that height like that
was at all possible,

and so, the minds doing their violence,
the cow abruptly subtracted from its perch,
falling upright onto the ground,
the damage quiet, permanent, glossy

the far off cities at ease.,
the children sleeping soundly in a thousand beds,
no one knowing the shape of the tragedy.
